Why Cleanse Your Colon




Many individuals have turned to colon cleansing when they suffer from constipation, sluggishness, tiredness, acne or candida. They have heard or read somewhere that cleansing your colon can rid your body of toxins that are responsible for these ailments and others. It is thought that the colon is one of the body's organs that has an impact on the other organs of the body such as the liver and kidney. Most individuals have poor diets that add mucoid plaque, toxins and parasites to the colon. A clogged colon can lead to constipation.

A poor colon can be the result of a unhealthy diet, poor living conditions or unsanitary living conditions and also poor lifestyle like overeating, not going to the bathroom when having the urge to do so and having a sedentary lifestyle with little or no activity or exercise.

Diet

Most of us eat too much protein. It is true that protein is necessary for healthy bodies, but too much of it can lead to over-acidity. Too much acid in the body can take a heavy toll on the colon as that can deplete it of minerals and electrolytes, which are used to take out harmful bacteria and toxins from the colon.

The vast majority of individuals overeat by taking larger than normal portion sizes or having more than one serving size. We are used to advertising telling us to combo size it, and we do. When we overeat, we overuse enzymes, which causes the colon to work harder.

Processed foods like packaged, boxed, canned and pre-made meals all lead to mucoid plaque getting stuck in our colons.

Environment

Today's environment is loaded with toxins such as pollutants, secondary smoke, harmful chemicals, pesticides and dyes. Our immune system has to work harder to rid the body of these toxins including the colon.

Cleansing your colon serves three purposes:

1. It relieves constipation

2. Strengthens your inner organs

3. Rids your body of toxins

We accumulate a lot of junk in our colons from a lifetime of taking in toxins from our environment such as pollution, harsh chemicals, secondary smoke, even a constant use of antibiotics can lead to toxicity in the colon.

Colon cleansing can indirectly cleanse the small intestine, large intestine even the stomach. When we cleanse our colons we are benefiting multiple organs at the same time.

A healthy colon means no straining or pain upon elimination. Normal bowel movements are brownish in color or possibly a little green. Most who eat a normal amount of food will experience one or two bowel movements a day if they have a healthy colon. Floating or sinking has nothing to do with the health of your colon, a bowel movement will float or sink depending on the type of diet you consume.
