Vitamin B12 Deficiency
To produce red blood cells and to maintain the nervous system inside the body vitamin B12 is necessary. Vitamin B12 deficiency will not produce DNA, which is the generic material in the cell inside the marrow and abnormal cells. This formation is called as the mega oblasts this will give rise to the anemia. Body of anemic person is unable to produce red blood cells or existing cells are unable to carry sufficient amount of oxygen around the blood system.
This is because of the inadequate amount of the vitamin B12. Generally, span of the red blood cells is of about four months and therefore it is necessary to produce new red blood cells and replace old one. This is the functioning of vitamin B12 and therefore vitamin B12 is necessary for every one.
Generally, vitamin B12 deficient person will face unusual fatigue, breathlessness. This is because of the reduced amount of the oxygen carried in the body. These peoples may face the problems of faint feeling, pale looking, poor resistance to infections, as well as sore mouth and tongue.
If all these deficiencies are kept untreated, they may cause nerve problems. Symptoms of this deficiency can be observed through shaky hands, unsteady gait, weak muscles, numbness and confusion. All these deficiencies occur due to the less intake of the vitamin B12 in to the diet. To overcome these entire problem adequate amount of the vitamins are necessary for this purpose one has to try to include the rich source of vitamin B12 in the diet. This regular intake will increase the vitamin level in the body and accordingly deficiency will decreases.
Daily intake of the vitamin B12 is required. Vitamin B 12 is water-soluble vitamin and therefore it is easily dissolved in the water and excreted out through urine. Therefore, though the body requirement of vitamin B 12 is less, one has to provide adequate amount of the vitamin to body. To provide vitamin B 12 in the body it is mandatory to include meat, fish, beans, peas, eggs and poultry in the diet. All these are the rich source of vitamin B12.
