Did you know that certain foods you may be eating right now are unhealthy for your colon? You did know the connection between what you eat and your colon right? Your colon handles all the waste products (left overs from what you ate).

Sugar:

The U.S. Department of Agriculture reports that most Americans can consume 150 lbs. of sugar in one day. This includes food, soft drinks and added sugar in beverages and on top of food like cereals. That amount of sugar is equal to about 52 teaspoons of sugar per person each day. That is a lot of sugar. That much sugar would make anyone sick, right?

Fast Food:

A filmaker, Morgan Spurlock, decided to conduct an experiment: 30 days of eating nothing but McDonalds fast food to see what if anything it would do to his body. He discovered that it wasn’t anything good just 3 days later as he was puking out his car window. He gained 25 pounds, increased his cholesterol from 165 to 230, lowered his libido and suffered physical ailments including headaches and depression. That was not the worst part, his liver became toxic. The fast food experiment was literally making him unhealthy.

Junk food including food served at fast food restaurants contain harmful chemicals and additives that may be infused with excitotoxins, found in monosodium glutamate (MSG), aspartame (Nutrisweet), cysteine, hydrolyzed protein and aspartic acid. The result of these chemicals are neurons that are literally blasted to death which results in brain damage. The choices we make in which foods to eat can have drastic impact on the health of our bodies.

Toxins from processed foods or microwaved foods can build up in our nervous system resulting in depression. Toxins can make us bloated, weak, out of breath. Toxins can result in acne, rashes or fatigue, and loss of libido.

It is not only what we eat but how much we eat that can have an impact on our health.

There appears to be no research that can prove that Colon hydrotherapy has any healthy benefits.

There are many colon cleanses and even herbal cleanses and herbal teas that have reported being beneficial as colon cleanses. However, as with any treatment you should ask your healthcare professional before starting any remedy, treatment or therapy.

A natural way to cleanse the colon is to let nature take its course and do the cleaning naturally using water and fiber.
