The Yucky Gunk In Your Colon

It usually gets ignored and when it is thought about, it is in terms of disgusting images. Most folk think of the colon as where the poop comes out and they would be right. That is the major function of the colon to get that matter out of your lower intestine.
What can happen when our colons are clogged? Most of us eat processed foods, we smoke or drink alcohol and generally abuse our bodies. This abuse ends up clogging our colons until they are half the size they should be. The sides of the colon can become hard that the peristaltic muscle (what pushes out the fecal matter) cannot do its work. This is why people have to strain when they are trying to push the stool out. Some people strain so hard and for long that they become light-headed! Straining is not good for your body. The sphincter muscle (end of the colon) can even become weak and have difficulty opening, which is why some people get hemorrhoids.
Do you ever wonder why you get hungry just 1/2 hr after you finished a meal? The reason could be that your colon is clogged. When this happens your body can only extract 5 to 10% of the nutrients from the foods that you eat. Your body signals that it needs you to eat more food because it is not getting enough nutrients and needs more. You eat more, and need more, so you eat more and the cycle goes on. You put on weight and your body still does not get the nutrients that it needs. A lot of overweight people, clean out the colon to find that they lose anywhere from 5, 10 even 15 pounds because not only do they lose the gunk from the colon but their digestion works better and they do not need to eat as much anymore, so they lose weight. These people, did not have an overweight problem, they had a colon problem that was contributing to the weight problem.
If your colon is working properly your body squeezes the liquid from the mushy food found in the large intestine. The blood absorbs the nutrients from the food, circulates it and feeds the entire body. The colon is then suppose to flush out the left over matter (bowel movement). If you are not having a bowel movement after each meal, where do you think the extra matter is going? It stays in the colon, getting squished by the next meal you eat and the next until it gets compacted against the colon wall. This cycle repeats until you have layer upon layer, upon layer of decaying matter.
The colon is a humid and moist environment, perfect for matter to ferment and rot.
How are the kidneys and liver connected to the rotting matter in our colon? The job of the kidneys and liver is to filter out the impurities from the bloodstream. When we have a lot of toxins and impurities coming from a colon being overloaded with decaying matter, this makes the kidneys and liver do overtime. They cannot keep up with all the impurities and toxins so they slow down while the colon is producing more toxins. This creates a huge problem. Over time the impurities and toxins build up and settle into areas of the body that are weakened. These weakened areas could be the joints resulting in arthritis or they could be the skin, resulting in acne. The body tries to extract the toxins and that is why we feel so tired and run-down.
