The Colon Connection

Most people do not even consider themselves constipated, but they are. If you are not having a bowel movement after every meal, you are constipated, according to colon expert and practicing herbalist, Joseph Seters. I would say according to this definition, that most people are constipated. Why is being constipated important? If you only have one bowel movement per day but you eat 3 meals a day, that means that 2 meals are either being totally absorbed by the body or are just sitting in your colon, turning into toxic waste. If you eat 3 meals each day and only have one bowel movement a day for 7 days then you are having 14 meals that are either being totally digested or just sitting in your colon, rotting away. Constipation itself won't kill you, but it will cause your body to be overworked trying to get out all those toxins stored in your colon. Eventually those toxins travel through the bloodstream to weakened areas of your body and you do become sick.

You can tell when a person is retaining meals because the gas that they pass from their rectum smells awful. If you are having a healthy bowel movement after each meal you eat then, you could pass gas and people would not know it because there would be no smell. The smell comes from the food fermenting in your colon that is not being digested properly. Smelly gas also comes from not chewing your food properly. Older generations used to say, "chew your food twenty times before swallowing". This multiple chewing allows your back teeth to mash the food enough so it is more easily digested. Properly digested food is easier for your body to break down.

Do you know someone with smelly stools, where you have to spray perfume or air deodorizer after they leave the bathroom? Do you know someone who has to sit for 20 to 30 minutes on the toilet just to pass stool? These people have sick colons. Dry stools are difficult to pass. Normal stools should be moist and dark brown. It should take you less than a minute to pass each stool.

Students doing autopsies on cadavers have reported cutting open colons to find black walls full of decayed crud 2 to 3 inches think, some even 4 to 5 inches thick - that is a lot of crud! This black crud on the lining of colons prevents the liquid from passing in or out of the colon when it is that clogged!

Headache sufferers have reported finding relief after cleaning out their colons.

Diverticulitis is associated with your colon in the fact that it occurs when a pocket on the outside of the colon wall becomes weak like a balloon and fills with toxins, worms or parasites. These pockets are called polyps.

Colitis is another illness connected to the colon. Colitis is actually inflammation of the colon. There is an irritation in the bowel that the colon is trying to remove. The irritation can be pockets or polyps of toxins. The colon tries to flush it out with water, which causes diarrhea.

Individuals who suffer from gastritis (gas in the stomach) have a lack of digestive juices. The food they eat does not get properly digested in the stomach which causes fermentation to occur which results in gas.

The colon really is an amazing and very important part of the human body and so very connected to the rest of the body. When the colon is functioning properly the entire body is feeling better. When the colon is unhealthy and not functioning properly the body suffers.
