Surrogate Motherhood Should Not Be Banned

There are many people in the world who have to face the devastating news that they cannot have children. This piece of news really is very devastating to millions of couples and single women when they hear from their doctors that they cannot conceive or bear a child. For people who already have families and are caring for them this may not seem a very important news but if you put yourself in the position of someone who comes to know that he or she is incapable of having a child can really make their world come crashing.

There are some women who are able to get pregnant but end up with miscarriages all the time. This could be very traumatizing to the woman that she will fear becoming pregnant knowing that every time it will end in a miscarriage.

But in recent years all this has changed with surrogacy playing an important role. Now infertile couples can have the privilege to go through pregnancy and all the things that go with it with the help of surrogacy. In this another fertile woman carries the child for the infertile woman either for free or for a payment then it becomes an arrangement.

Many people are in the opinion that surrogacy should be banned as it is ethically morally incorrect and affects religious sentiments of many. Many hard core Christians and Muslims do not favor surrogacy and are totally against it.

But surrogacy should not be banned as it provides an opportunity for people who cannot have babies to get one through this method. Many people are opting for surrogacy to adoption as they feel they can connect better with this child though it is carried by another woman.

Some couples prefer having their babies through relatives who may be willing to carry the baby for them there have been many cases where the woman’s sister or even mother has been willing to carry the child for her sister or daughter.

Surrogate mothers are actually very compassionate people who are more than willing to share every moment and experience of the baby with the intended parents. There are some cases where the surrogate mothers do it for the huge amounts of money that is involved. Surrogacy is a very expensive procedure and involves plenty of legal work.
