Stress affects different people in different ways. The effects of stress on the human body are many and varied. Some people feel stress in their stomachs. Some people feel stress in their chests. But most people feel stress in the muscles of the backs and necks which lead to stress headaches. Stress headaches are very difficult to live with. Stress headaches can be very debilitating. Stress headaches can lead to full blown migraine headaches which can have devastating effects on your life.

If you fell stress in your back and neck muscles, you will be prone to stress headaches. That tightness at the base of your skull is a stress headache. That band of pain that radiates up from the base of your skill to encircle you head like a crown of pulsating pain is a stress headache. Stress headaches don’t take long to develop. Some people get under stress and almost immediately, they are developing a stress headache. Some people spend all day at work under stress and then by the time the get home, they have a stress headache.

Of course, different things stress different people out. Someone might be fine at work with a fast paced hectic job and then the stress of driving home gives them a stress headache. Some stress headaches can be easily cured by a couple of aspirin. And if you have the occasional stress headache, a few aspirin probably won’t hurt you, but if you suffer from frequent severe stress headaches, that aspirin won’t help you much and that much aspirin will probably do you harm. So if you suffer from frequent stress headaches, what do you do?

well, you should probably first go see your medical doctor for a check up just to be sure your stress headaches aren’t the symptom of something more serious. Once she has checked you out and determined that nothing is physically wrong with you that is causing your stress headaches, then it is time to address the cause of your stress headaches and to do some simple things to help alleviate your stress headaches.

There are many things you can do about stress headaches. The most important would be to identify the main cause of your stress headaches and eliminate it if possible. This could be the end of your stress headaches, but most likely, you will not be able to eliminate all the stress from your life. What you might be able to do is change the way you react when stress is present in your life and accept that sometimes you might get on of those stress headaches and you will still need to know how to handle stress headaches.
