Stress Disorders
Stress can have many different effects on a person. Some of the effects of stress are positive and some can be negative. Some people react to stress by developing stress disorders. There are many different stress disorders and if left untreated, these stress disorders can seriously affect a person's life. fortunately, stress disorders can be treated successfully in most people and new advances are always being made in the treatment of stress disorders.
As far as stress disorders go the one that has been getting the most attention lately is post traumatic stress disorder. Post traumatic stress disorder affects people who have suffered some emotional trauma and afterwards, begin to suffer a variety of debilitating symptoms. PTSD can really ruin an person's life. People suffering from post traumatic stress disorder are very often clinically depressed and can be suicidal.
Post traumatic stress disorder is so debilitating that people suffering from post traumatic stress disorder often cannot continue to work. PTSD affects every aspect of a person's life. Post traumatic stress disorder can wreck marriages and break up families. People suffering from post traumatic stress disorder often self medicate and develop chemical dependencies, drug addictions and alcoholism. Post traumatic stress disorder can be treated through counseling and medication, but it can be a long hard row to hoe.
Another stress disorder that affects a lot of people is stress disorder is severe anxiety. This stress disorder can also be quite debilitating and makes it very difficult for the person suffering from this stress disorder to lead a normal life. Whether due to chronic stress or a one time severe stress, this stress disorder leaves a person anxious all the time. This stress disorder is more than just being worried. The severe anxiety that sufferers of this stress disorder experience can control their lives.
This stress disorder can blossom into many related stress disorders and phobias that make it impossible for a person to conduct a normal life. Another very debilitating stress disorder is panic attacks. This stress disorder can cause a person great physical and mental suffering. When a person is suffering from this stress disorder, they often go into panic attacks that cause their heart rate to shoot up and their adrenalin to course through their bodies, often for no apparent reason.
This stress disorder can be set off by a sound, sight, smell or really anyone or a combination of the senses. This stress disorder can wreak havoc with a person's personal and professional life and, if left untreated, this stress disorder can have devastating long term effects
