Body requires particular amount of vitamins and it is according to the Recommended Daily Allowance or also called as RDA. This RDA is different for water-soluble vitamins and fat-soluble vitamins. Requirement of vitamins will differ with age, body size, growth rate, sex, pregnancy, and location. RDA of fat-soluble vitamins is required as mentioned.

Children in the age group of 4 to 6 need about 2,500 IU of vitamin A, 400IU of vitamin D as well as 9IU of vitamin E. Whereas, the children in the age group of 7 to 10 will need approximately 3,300IU of vitamin A, around 400 IU of vitamin D, necessity of vitamin E is about 10IU.

Requirement of vitamins for males in the age group of 15 to 18 needs about 5000IU of vitamin A, around 400IU of vitamin D, and near about 15 IU of vitamin, E. this requirement is same for the age group of the 19 to 24. In the age group of 25 to 50 this necessity is about 5000 IU of vitamin A, about 15 IU of vitamin E. for these peoples vitamin D needs in little amount. Males above the age group of 50 need around 5000IU of vitamin A, and about 15IU of vitamin E. these peoples also needs vitamin D in little amount.

Vitamin requirements for the females in the age group of 15 to 18 is about 4000 IU of vitamin A, 400 IU of vitamin D and about 12 IU of vitamin E. Females in the age group of 19 to 24 needs about 4000 IU of vitamin A, 400 IU of vitamin D and approximately 12 IU of vitamin E. Women of the age from 25 to 50 needs about 4000 IU of vitamin A, near about 12 IU of vitamin D, and approximately 12 IU of vitamin E. Females who are above age of 50 years need about 4000 IU of vitamin A, around 12 IU of vitamin E and these women need vitamin D in very little amount.

Where as water soluble vitamin B6 needed in children is about 0.9mg to 1.2mg, and vitamin B12 is about 1.5mg to 2.0mg. Males need vitamin B6 in the range of around1.5mg to 2.0mg, vitamin B12 requires in the range of 2.5mg to 3.0mg. For women vitamin B6 need in the range of 2.0/1.6mg and around 3.0/2.0mg of vitamin B12.
