Many children keep coming to their parents and saying that they are bored and that they have nothing to do. Also they will keep pestering you with the words 'what should I do now'. These are the words many parents hear time and again especially during summer when they do not have to attend school.

As a parent you must keep thinking of novel ways to keep your children busy all the time. Allowing them to watch television programs all the time is not conducive to their growth.

Both mentally and emotionally and also physically.

Children have a tremendous amount of energy. They forever want to do things. So it is ideal that you keep your children occupied by engaging in activities along with them. This way when you do things along with them it helps you both to understand each other better and the child feels secure that you are really interested in them. This helps to build an emotional rapport between the parent and child.

There are plenty of parenting activities that you can do along with your children. Make these activities fun so that your children will enjoy doing them with you. One thing you can do to keep your children occupied while you are busy with your work is to give them a list of chores to perform.

Children will gladly do small pieces of work if you tell them nicely and lovingly. But children expect their parents to do activities along with them.

Here are some fun filled activities that you can do along with your children.

Try doing a craft project together with your child. Go to any craft shop and purchase a craft kit and help your child to finish the craft. Allow your child to do the craft alone under your supervision and offer to help only if your child has any difficulty. Being there along with them gives then a sense of confidence.

You can engage them to help you bake cookies along with you. You can get them to stir the dough and help to frost the cookies once they are done. Children look to help their parents in baking and cooking.

Buy coloring books and activity books and spend time with them while they are doing the coloring etc. Children want the attention of their parents all the time as it is quite natural for them to want to feel they are important in their parent's lives.
