Motherhood In Your Forties
In this technological world where every one is so busy making a career for them selves and work hard to have a comfortable future with regards to their future many women have given becoming a mother the go by and opt to have children when they are well past thirty five and are nearly in their forties.
A bay can be had any time between the ages of twenty and forty for a woman. But the risks of conception is much lower as she nears forty as a woman’s chances of producing eggs decreases with age. There are some women who would have started their family early but become pregnant again while they are close to forty. It does not matter as every age is a good time to have a baby.
Having a baby in your forties is quite common these days as many women are so absorbed in their career that they put off having children till they are forty. After forty the risk of complications involving pregnancy is higher. There is an increase chance that you may deliver a bay who has a low birth weight.
As you age your eggs also are getting older and the conceiving becomes a major problem. After forty a woman is actually well on to way to retirement and relaxation as she is fast approaching the post menopausal stage where the production of eggs becomes lower. This certainly reduces her chances of conceiving.
Also as you age the body is prone to more health and stress related problems. You may experience blood pressure, diabetes and are more prone to heart related problems. With all these complications going through a pregnancy will also be tough both mentally and physically.
The chances of having twins also is greater as age increase as this has been found from studying many women who have conceived and delivered after they are forty.
When a woman is approaching forty she will be more mentally strong and matured enough to handle pregnancy and motherhood after the birth of the baby. Experiences in life would have taught her how to deal with situations which involve stress. So there is nothing wrong in having a baby and going through mother hood when you are forty but be prepared to handle the situation well.
