Known Vitamins And Their Importance
Vitamins are the most important thing for the body which is helpful to carry out the day-to-day life and without which survival is difficult. Vitamins are nothing but the organic substance which is necessary for proper growth and functionality of the body. Vitamins will not provide calories as that of the protein, fats as well as carbohydrates. Vitamins are necessary in small amount to carry out the normal chemical reactions called as the metabolism inside the body.
As body itself is unable to prepare vitamins it is necessary to intake the vitamins externally with the help of food. However, in case of vitamin D you may get it from exposure to sun. However, if this intake is insufficient one has to face many deficiency diseases. For instance, one may suffer with anemia because of the iron deficiency. Anemia causes because of the deficiency of folic acid also called as vitamin B12. Vitamin K deficiency will cause in easy and excessive bleeding.
If you are suffering with impaired night vision and blindness then you are deficient in vitamin A., on the other hand vitamin D or calcium will cause in bone disease. One has to suffer with scurvy if that person is deficient in vitamin C. These diseases are less in the region of Western Society where as it is more in the area of very poor diets.
Generally, vitamin D efficiency occurs in the elder persons as lack of external supplement and less exposure to sun. Patients suffering with pernicious anemia and the elder persons who are suffering with atrophic gastritis may become vitamin B 12 deficient, as they are unable to consume it through diet. On the other hand, the persons who are alcohol addicts may be deficient in thiamine, folic acid, as well as niacin.
Along with this, the patients who are consuming the orlistat or xenical to reduce there weight might not get the fats and they will be vitamin deficient, as it does not dissolve in the fat.
To avoid all these diseases it is required to intake vitamin and therefore they are important in day to day's life.
