Motherhood- This has surely become a hot topic on the internet these days. In the past around a hundred years ago it was expected of a woman to get married and have children and spend her time to care for and raise her children into well developed adults. In those days nobody made a big thing or gave any importance to motherhood. It was just happening.

Every woman got married, had kids, and took care of them and made sure that they become strong enough to go out into the world and face the challenges of the world.

Then women started to educate themselves and began to take up careers alongside men.

Most of the time was spent by these women to think of how to climb up the corporate ladder and earn plenty of money that the idea of getting married and having children was the last thing they had on their minds.

Once they have achieved their success it is then that they think that they are actually ready for motherhood having achieved financial stability.

It is only in recent times that Motherhood has really being given its due importance. This has been so because many women who have been putting off having a child have suddenly discovered they have actually passed the age when they could have had children with ease.

Motherhood was taken for granted for years., But in recent times it is slowly becoming a culture. In the western countries people have started celebrating Mother's Day. This is one day when children are expected to remember all the things that their mothers have done for them.

These children buy their mothers greeting cards and gifts and take them out for lunch or dinners and make sure to give them happiness. But is remembering your mother and feeling gratitude for all that she has done for you restricted to only a single day of the year? What a shame.

A mother has devoted all her life to you and has always given unconditional love. She is always there for you whenever you need her. She supports tremendous emotional support when ever you need it.

In countries like India Motherhood has always been part of their culture. They have many important festivals to celebrate motherhood and give it its due importance. But by celebrating such festivals is not enough as due importance is not given to the human mothers themselves.

It is around the word Mother that society and culture are associated with.
