Is A Career As An Internet Affiliate Marketer Of Colon Cleanses Really Worthwhile
If you are ready to purchase a natural colon cleanser via the Internet, you may have noticed that at the bottom of the websites which tout the effects of the various products there is a little link that speaks of affiliate marketing. When you click on it you are invited to go ahead and apply to the manufacturer to become an affiliate marketer and cash in on the worldwide success of the product. Those who are too young to remember the Amway craze that hit the lower middle class of the United States some 20 short years ago will most likely be the first to glance starry-eyed at the implied promises made by manufacturers and fellow affiliates alike when numbers are read off in an almost "nary a care" fashion.
Yet before you get ready to embark on this enterprise ask a few questions and do some serious research!
1. For example, if you are a teacher, athletics coach, Sunday school volunteer, or scout leader, will your involvement in this venture put you in a position of conflict of interest? In other words, will your being in a position of authority over children or young adults put their parents in a position of trusting you based on that position and therefore will be willing to purchase whatever colon cleansing supplements you may be selling on the side, even if you have little if any medical training or knowledge and thus are for all intents and purposes will be unable to determine if the particular supplement you are selling will truly be beneficial to the person who is buying?
2. Are you aware that multi level marketing – which is affiliate marketing in its purest form – is so commercially driven that whatever product you are selling most likely is overpriced to such an extent as to almost constitute a rip-off?
3. Will you be aiding and abetting in the practice of quackery? This is actually more common than you might think! If you have no medical training, you know that you will not be able to dispense any medical advice and thus whatever information the manufacturer gives you is pretty much gospel. How do you know if the manufacturer is giving you good information?
4. Is there a trainer or other affiliate put in charge of you to coach, mentor or help you along? Does this help include alleged medical statements that are presented to you as facts yet are hard to truly check out? If your mentor urges you to capitalize on known hoaxes, such as the urban legend that claims Jon Wayne's colon weighed 40 pounds at the time of his death, you need to think twice before you lend your good name and reputation to the company.
5. Does the training literature the manufacturer provides you speak of alleged attempts by regulating government agencies to besmirch the good name of the product or manufacturer? If so, be careful! You may just have been exposed to the oldest brainwashing trick in the world: the "us versus all of them" mentality that will blind rational people against well thought out criticism.
