Fat Soluble Vitamins
Vitamins form the essential compositions of the body. These are helpful in proper functioning of the body. Therefore, these are called as the sparking plug of body. Our body cannot produce vitamins and therefore external supplement of vitamin is necessary. This supplement is through the diet. Ideal diet is abundant source of vitamins, but if it is not then external supplement is needed. This external supplement is in the tablet form.
These pills are preferred to be consuming with the proper diet. Diet and external consumption of vitamins will maintain the vitamin level inside the body. Best natural source of the vitamins are grains, fresh vegetables and fruits, poultry meat and dairy products. External supplement of the vitamins are either solid form or in the liquid form.
There are two types of vitamins, which are water-soluble and fat-soluble. Water-soluble vitamins dissolve in water. These vitamins generally not stored in the body. However, fat soluble vitamins dissolves in fat and they stores in the fatty tissues in the body. Fat-soluble vitamins are vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E and vitamin K. These are found in the fatty foods as well as in the fish liver oils.
Generally, fatty foods are rich in vitamin A and D. Body will absorb these vitamins from the fatty food. If one has diet well adequate with the fat-soluble vitamin, then it will store the vitamins in the liver of human body. Enough amount of these vitamins are stored in the liver so as to satisfy the body’s need for several months when are absent in the diet.
Vitamin A is necessary for night vision as well as healthy skin. As this vitamin has anti oxidant properties, it assists the immune system of the body. Antioxidant helps to prevent cancer and other diseases.
Vitamin D is important in absorption of calcium and helps in bone growth and strength. It also regulate amount of phosphorus, assist in healthy heart and nervous system.
Vitamin E is powerful antioxidant that will protect the cells from oxidation, neutralizes free radicals. Vitamin K is essential in blood clotting and creating prothrombin.
All these are fat-soluble vitamins needed in the body.
