In the proper functioning of the body adequate intake of vitamin is necessary. One can consume it through the regular diet or can supplement the diet with external intake of vitamin pills. However, continuous intake of the vitamin pills other than requirement can become the mega doses. Vitamins to be consume according to the Recommended Dietary Allowances or RDA. This will provide the sufficient amount of the vitamins in the body.

However, excess intake of the vitamins is harmful.

Generally, body will store the required amount of vitamins and minerals until it is needed. But some situation comes when the housing of the vitamins become more than required amount then and will show the toxic effects by putting many of the organs directly at the risk. Especially fat-soluble doses are dangerous among all the vitamins.

High does of vitamin A will lead the complications during the pregnancy and delivery. Where as excess does of vitamin C can affect the kidney. High does of vitamin B-6 can damage nervous system. Vitamins not only affect the body organs but excess does of single vitamin will upset the balance. This will give rise to deficiencies in other vitamins. Excess does of vitamins will affect the other medications if one is consuming to cure the disease.

However, the high does of vitamins that you are consuming through your regular diet will not affect on your body. These chances are very low. For an instance, eating high amount of green vegetables and salad will not show bad effects as vitamin K becomes more. For this purpose, one has to keep control over the vitamins, which are in the form of pills or tablets.

For this purpose it will be good if one intakes the vitamins through the daily regular diet. Usually ideal diet is the abundant source of the vitamins. Therefore, preference must be given to the vitamin adequate diet. Though one is vitamin deficient regular intake of the vitamins through food will improve the reduce level of vitamins in the body. In addition, incase though it becomes more it will not affect the body.
