Disciplining Parenting Issues Tips
The moment a baby is born its innate nature to trust also begins. It is removed from its warm comfortable quiet world where it stayed secure for 10 months to a frightening world of noise and utter discomfort. It is at this time that a parent gives the child all the love and warmth and comfort that the child has been used to all this time before its birth.
By taking care of the child the parents let the baby know that the child can trust them and that the child is safe. Newborns soon realize that when ever they have a need there will be someone to care for them.
The child is always learning lessons while it is growing up. But this process becomes complicated as time goes on. By learning to trust children learn to grow up into self assured independent adults. Trust can be imbibed in children through physical contact and through words of endearment.
When your child learns that he or she can trust you it is easy to discipline such a child. By constantly telling your children that they are loved will make them really feel secure and wanted. This leads to emotional security in the child. When the child knows that he or she will still be loved even if they make mistakes they will make it a point to approach their parents whenever the need to make the right decisions. And they will listen to their parents when they are told something.
Parents need to instill routines as early as possible in the lives of their children. This does not mean that you treat your child like a military man or woman. Make sure that the kids do things in the same manner every time. This way the child knows exactly what will come next and will be prepared for it mentally. But routines which worked for older siblings may not work for other children.
For routines to work it must be comfortable for both parent and child. If a routine does not work for a child just find another one. Your child relies on you to make good choices that are in their interests.
Make sure the child knows what behavior can be acceptable and what cannot be acceptable to you. If you feel that something is not acceptable make it known gently but firmly so the child understands that what ever he or she did is not to your liking.
