We all know that diabetes is a treatable condition, but the only presence of the disease is enough for increasing the risk of stroke.
Diabetic patients are also subjected to high risk of stroke as well as hypertension. It is found to be one of the strongest risk factor among men and women from the strokes. It is also said that the duration of the diabetes mellitus is also one of the key factor that contributes to the risk of the stroke. The stroke patients who are found as diabetic are connected with some peculiar pattern of the stroke type and topography, but they are not at all associated with poor functional outcome.
Diabetes mellitus is highly associated with stroke and diseases of the heart. This results in heart attack. So, it is better suggested that people with diabetes mellitus should avoid the diseases related to the heart and the blood vessel by having a control over the other risk factors. It is very important to control your weight and cholesterol levels in the blood by having a diet that is low in saturated fats and cholesterols. Doing regular aerobics exercises and physical activities can be of great help. The high blood pressure must be lowered and very important is to avoid smoking completely.
