Vaccines

Rubella Vaccines

Rubella is a viral disease that may cause birth defects. If a pregnant woman gets infected with rubella virus, there is 90% chance for the baby to get the disease. Rubella virus cause severe defects like deafness in child, eye defect, heart problems etc. there are 70000 infant deaths caused by rubella. Yet they can be prevented. There are two combination vaccines for preventing rubella all over the world. One is MR that protects your child from measles and rubella and the other is MMR that prevents measles, mumps and rubella.

Tuberculosis Vaccines

Tuberculosis which is often abbreviated as TB is one of the common, deadly infectious disease. Tuberculosis is caused due to mycobacteria; it is mainly caused due to the mycobacterium tuberculoslis. Tuberculosis mainly affects the lungs of the human body. The tuberculosis vaccines are meant for the prevention of the disease.

Currently there is only one vaccine of tuberculosis available. It is commonly known as the BCG

The BCG is a noted vaccine for tuberculosis, technically it is known as the bacilli Calmette-Guerin. The BCG is commonly used in the nations where there is high prevalence of tuberculosis in the form of childhood tuberculosis meningitis and military disease. These vaccinations are used only as preventive measures.

Pertusis Vaccine

Pertusis vaccine is normally given as a combination vaccine with Diphtheria and tetanus vaccine. Pertusis is a serious disease that causes severe reactions in children and mild reactions in adults. It is caused by a micro organism called Bordella pertusis. It is also known as whooping cough. The disease affects the respiratory organs. It is highly contagious and dangerous. Yet it is a vaccine preventable disease. The vaccine is given as an intra muscular or sub cutaneous shot in the child’s arm or leg.

Combination Vaccines

Every child will have nearly 22 shots of vaccines before he enters the school. The parents may think whether it is possible to eradicate diseases from the world itself so that their child may get less number of shots. The least they can do is to put combination vaccines that will reduce the pain of large number of shots. Already we know about some common combination vaccines like MMR that will prevent measles, mumps and rubella and DTP that prevents Diphtheria, tetanus and whooping cough. Yet there are some more combination vaccines.

Pneumococcal Vaccines

Pneumococcal diseases are becoming common nowadays. Pneumococcal diseases include HIV, chronic organ failure and sickle cell anemia. Lot of children dies of pneumococcal diseases particularly in developing countries. The children are transmitted with these diseases from the parents. Pneumococcus has more than 90 sub types. Of which 10 sub types are related to children. It may cause ear infection and arthritis in children. Treatment to such diseases is very difficult. Vaccination is the best solution to prevent pneumococcal diseases. More vaccines are effective and safe.

How Vaccines Are Made

Edward Jenner was successful in using vaccine to prevent the diseases causing because of virus and bacterial. Vaccines are very useful to increase our immunization capacity. They protect us from horrifying diseases. Now it is fact that some diseases like plague, small pox are totally eradicated because of vaccines. If we know how vaccines work to prevent us against diseases, we can easily understand how vaccines are made.

Safety Of Vaccines

The Goal of safety of vaccines is to give key measurement for safety and security of vaccines. The goal is to prevent diseases by using safest vaccines. The safety measurement of vaccines is one of the inevitable quality assurance criteria of the vaccines.

Vaccines Schedule

It is recommended that children should take vaccines as soon as their immune system is developed to respond to a particular vaccine. In the case where their immune system not been able to respond vaccines, it will create some problems like infections etc, which can make disease much more complex to tackle. It is also recommended that some of the vaccines should be kept away from children this is necessary to give safety measurement to the medicine.

Vaccine Lawyer

Vaccine lawyers are those who are specialists in getting compensation for persons who affected by vaccines. Vaccines sometimes cause harmful side effects. People who are affected can get compensation by moving the case to court. A petitioner can file case against vaccines like DTP, Hepatitis a and B, MMR, HIB, Polio and some other combination of these vaccines. Now there are number of cases filed against Vaccine injuries under National childhood vaccine injury program.

Hiv Vaccines

Nearly 40 million people are affected with HIV all over the world. There is no specific treatment to control the disease. Preventing them through vaccination is the best possible way to save the infected persons. But the fact is that the AIDS vaccine failed to work in large international test. A lot of research is required in this type of vaccine. The worlds most trusted anti AIDS vaccine do not protect the volunteers. Instead it infected them in large number.

Vaccine Contaminants

In order to produce viral vaccines in a large scale, virus must be reproduced in a large scale. Virus will be reproduced with the help of cells only. These cells must be fed properly. Usually they are fed with bovine, calf serum etc. These products may contain lot bovine borne virus. This is the primary source for vaccine contamination. This contamination is present in the source material like human blood, human tissues and animal tissues. Vaccine produced on contaminated cells will produce diseases. So the safety and purity of vaccines need to be checked for any bovine contaminants.

Vaccine Reactions

Vaccination is a medical procedure which is used to make an individual human body immune to diseases, making the immune system to react. The immune system of an organism acts as a resistance against viruses, bacteria, parasites, and some poisons. Immune systems of different organisms have many variations and some have more than one immune system in them (like the human brain having its own immune system other than the normal one). The immune system reacts against the infections and makes the body immune to them. To fight against any virus or bacteria that cause the disease, the body is vaccinated.
