The diabetes low carbohydrate diet should be low in fat, full of minerals, high in fiber with a lot of vitamins, phytochemicals, and antioxidants.</p>
<p>Doctors also believe that complete elimination of carbohydrates from diabetes low carbohydrate diet is not good for their patients. Because the carbohydrates are a major source of energy and nutrients diabetics are encouraged to consume some carbonhydrates. The limit of intake of carbohydrates should be around 130 grams. <p>Another very important factor you need to decide on now is a really good, yet moderate exercise program. Maybe you could start out by walking a mile or two a day, atleast three days a week at first then build yourself up to doing more after a good period of time, getting your body used to it. After getting into the groove with just a little walking in the beginning, you might want to consider joining a gym and getting into more advanced workouts for improving your health even more rapidly.</p>

Another great thing about exercising and eating healthy is that not only will it make you feel so much better, it will keep your mind focused on positive things in your life. Dwelling on the negative that is occurring is very unhealthy and letting stress get you down and depressed is the worse thing for you when you have a disease such as diabetes. Having a strong, healthy mind is also very important in keeping your body and all of its functions performing at its fullest capabilities.</p>
<p>Diabetes is a serious disease and is occurring more rapidly now than ever before but the good thing about this disease is that it can be controlled and regulated with the proper precautions and medications if necessary. The main thing is to always keep up to date on your physicals with your physician because so many people have diabetes and do not even know it. Diabetes can be very, very bad if it has gone on for far too long, without the proper actions being taken. However, if you catch it early enough, you will be able to live a long, healthy life and by exercising and eating right, your body and mind will feel better than ever before. However, just as quickly as we learned it we seem to have forgotten it. Adults very rarely follow the food pyramid at all. However, for a diabetic, this can be an excellent tool.</p>
<p>In fact, there is a food pyramid designed specifically for diabetics. It is called the diabetes food pyramid. This pyramid is divided into six different food groups just like the regular food pyramid. The only difference between this pyramid and the regular food pyramid is that the diabetic one will combine foods together based on similar carbohydrate content. This is a great way to help you make food choices based on how they will affect your blood glucose levels.</p>
<p>For example, in a diabetes food pyramid, cheese is grouped together with meats instead of dairies, and is given a serving size equivalent to other proteins in the same group. Also, potatoes, corn, peas and other starchy vegetables are grouped with breads and grains because they have a similar effect on blood sugars.</p>
<p>Another difference with the diabetes food pyramid is in the serving sizes. This is especially true with breads and grains. In these categories, smaller portion sizes are recommended.
